coconut oil and olive oil hair treatment

Ok 1st I looked up homemade hot oil  treatments on Pintrest
and I  came acrossed a few
BUT
I didnt have but a few ingredients
SOOO
I added a few tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil (Pompeian)
and
100% coconut oil
in a lil bowl
and then I heated for 20 seconds in the microwave...
I then massaged it into my DRY, suppppperrr DRY hair
left it in while I was taking a long shower 15 mins or so.. because of the hot mist.
..I don't have a heat bubble thing for my head sooo I figured it would work
I then washed and conditioned...
and combed while wet...
Now I twisted my hair, high on top of my head...
wrapped a bandana around my head and went to sleep
Yes that is our new addition rat David

When I woke up I untwisted my hair and
this is what it looked like no products or brushing..
I revived it so much that the new little hairs were curly too.

UPDATE: this is after some products and makeup lol
And this is before bed

Cake Sandwiches

Cake turned to cookies..
I took this recipe and added vanilla pudding in between two cookies and then topped with frosting.. YUM
What you need:
Vanilla Pudding package
1 Box of Cake mix
1 egg
1/4 c oil
1/4 c water
Preheat oven 350.
1st we made the vanilla pudding with a little less milk then called for
mix together then we added food coloring for fun...
PLACE IN FRIDGE

Mix the cake mix together with the egg, oil, and water.
When it gets doughy drop onto cookie sheet just as you would cookies

Place in oven 15 mins
let cool on cookie rack and I left some space to start putting the sandwiches together
Now you pull your pudding out of the fridge and take two cookies and add a little drop of pudding to one bottom side and take the other bottom end and press lightly together.
Repeat until all the cookies are done then frost and sprinkle
Enjoy! Yeah!

Salt dough prints.. CLASSIC!!!

We did one of my all time favorites about a month ago and here it is....

Recipe: 1 cup salt    1 cup flour    up to a 1/2 cup of water
Preheat oven to 200
Mix ingredients in large bowl.
Knead it until it makes a dough
use a plate that is big enough for your choice of print such as foot or hand
squish it into the dish
then flip that on the baking sheet and on the smooth surface insert the kids foot or hand
press firmly, and lift straight up
then bake on 200 for 3hrs or more until it is all the way dry and hard. then you can paint
NOTE: if you want to hang it then you need to make a hole first before you bake.

Homemade baby wipes....YEAH

Sooo after 4 kids I finally got a hold of this one.. man I wish I had this one back in the day when I had two in diapers.. well my youngest is 19months and I made these for him so we call them Lazarus Wipes.

What you need:
container with lid
knife to cut paper towels in half
1 roll Paper towels
2 cup boiled water then cooled
2 Tbsp of baby wash
1 Tbsp baby oil

First. Boil water to get all the ickies out.
Let it get cool enough to touch
Add water to your container

In the Picture there is a container, Bounty Basic Paper towels, Baby oil, and my homemade body wash,
Add baby soap and baby oil to your container and mix with the warm water.

Now cut your paper towel roll in 1/2 I had my husband do it..lol
Then you add 1/2 of the roll and save the other for next time.
Place the lid on and turn upside down for a few mins 5-10
Pull out the cardboard middle twisting a little as you pull
Then grab out the middle towel and there you go!
Someone said "why do this wipes are cheap"  well they are until you realize that you use a box a week that adds up.. ALSO you can use up to 4 of the wipes from the store.. these wipes are sturdy I use 1 and if really messy 2 or 3 but they are way better then store bought wipes and healthier.

UPDATE:  Lazarus is ALLERGIC TO THE BABY OIL.. BROKE OUT HORRIBLE.. SO WE HAD TO DECREASE THE BABY OIL..JUST A DROP

Homemade bath soap

OK this is my Favorite project so far... I love it, the kids love it and my husband is amazed... he tells everyone "my wife made soap"...
My favorite about this recipie is that the ingredients can be changed for endless possibilities....
OK Here it is..soooo simple...

1 bar of soap of your choice..
(we used Dr. Bronners..I like to keep things as natural as possible..You can find this at a health food store.. Im not all sure where else)...

2 onces Oil such as coconut, olive, etc.
UPDATE: my second batch i used coconut oil sooo much better..

1 quart or more or less of water
(depending if you want it think or more watery..I made it a little watery beacause Im trying to save money where ever I can)

Grate the soap in to little bits..

Use a big enough pot for 1 litter and pour your water into the pot and heat.

Add soap bits to heated water

dissolve soap

Add your choice of oil

Bring to boil and remove off heat and let cool then add to the container that you choose.
We used jars until it cooled
Let it sit over night it will thicken.
( I thought I added to much water at 1st)
Then I put it in a baby soap container with a squirt noozel.
SHAKE BEFORE EACH USE.

Homemade Laundry Soap...

This was amazing .. another Pinterest try... I love it and my clothes are so clean....
What you will need:

1 Bar soap

1 cup Borax(I used the hand soap Boraxo because that is what I had)

1 cup Super washing soda

1 Large cooking pot

Large spoon

2 - 1 gallon jugs(like empty milk jugs)

funnel
Step 1....Soap...any bar soap of your choice..I went to our local health food store and bought Jasmine all natural soap...

Step 2. ... as you can see from the picture is to grate it with a cheese grater...
Step 3........Add one gallon of water to your pot and heat up...

Step 4 .......Dissolve the soap
Step 5...Add 1 cup of borax and 1 cup washing soda
Step 6 ... heat up until boiling and TURN OFF HEAT.. I found out the hard way.. it over flowed bubbles everywhere..
Step 7... add 1 gallon of Cold water and mix... Use funnel and put in containers.. I let it cool awhile in the pot.. maybe 10 mins or soo.

This is what it looked like when I first put it into the bottles..it looks watery BUT the next day it was very thick.. if it gets to thick you can use less soap next time or add more water...I SHAKE BEFORE EACH USE.... JUST LIKE MY HOMEMADE BATH SOAP ...

Keep this away from children and enjoy....

Mordecai the New Addition to our family

Rottweiler puppies...

Introducing our new baby boy..Mordecai Snoop Jr. We brought him home last night. We were up with him all night trying to get him to use the bathroom...finally at 5 am this morning he did his business outside..he thought I was crazy when I started praising him for going potty. He didn't know why we go outside..were he was born they pretty much stayed outside... so he didn't understand the difference between outside and in the house. Hes getting it now after a few accidents. Rottweiler puppies are very different from regular dogs in many ways.. they are very prideful and smart. They catch on very easily.

The 1st morning....

We got up got my oldest two ready for school and gave Mordecai breakfast, then he got into the bath ..possibly for the 1st time..were he proceeded to fall asleep int he tub AFTER he got used to the water, then I got him out and dried him off then he played of course ..the after the bath puppy play..and now he has been asleep for almost 2 hours.....

I love it..............
